Abstract

This research is motivated by the low reading comprehension ability of fourth grade students
of UPT SD Negeri Dadaplangu 02 Kab. Blitar in understanding reading texts, and teachers have never
used innovative learning models to solve students' reading problems. The data collection technique
used is observation sheets to collect data on students' reading comprehension skills and activities
which are supported by documentation to prove activities during the learning process. Data analysis
techniques using quantitative data and qualitative data analysis. The results showed that in the
category of teacher activity results at the end of the first cycle, 86% in the good category became 95%
at the end of the second cycle, in the very good category. In the category of student activity results at
the end of cycle I by 83% in the good category to 94% at the end of cycle II in the very good category.
Finally, in the category of reading comprehension skills, cycle 1 meeting 1 was 53.9%, increased to
69.3% in cycle I meeting 2, to 84.6% in cycle II at meeting 1, then to 84.6% in cycle II meeting 2. The
category needs guidance in cycle I at meeting 1 to be sufficient in cycle I at meeting 2, then good in
cycle II meeting 1 and good in cycle 2 meeting 2.
