Abstract

Learning in the 21st century not only emphasizes cognitive aspects, but also must equip
students with the skills needed to become a competent and competitive generation. Skills in the 21st
century include: critical thinking, collaboration, communication, creativity, culture and connectivity.
Collaboration skills are one of the important, collaborative peer interactions that will trigger more
student engagement with cognitive and meta-cognitive peer interactions. The aim of this research is to
implement a problem-based learning model with video media to improve collaboration skills and
student learning outcomes. This type of research is Classroom Action Research (CAR), which consists of
four stages, namely planning, action, observation, and reflection which are carried out in two cycles.
Research data shows that there is an increase in collaboration skills in cycle 1 and cycle 2. The
learning outcomes of students from the post-test score data also show that students have achieved
learning objectives in cycle 1 and achieved learning objectives with enrichment in cycle 2. Based on the
results of this study, it can be concluded that the implementation of the Prolem-Based Learning (PBL)
model with video media is able to improve collaboration skills and student learning outcomes in the
material of non-cash payment instruments.
