Abstract

Based on the problems that occurred in the IVC class at SDN Sukun 1 Malang City in
the form of students who were less interested in learning social studies material, especially in
cultural material because there was so much reading material and it had an effect on
student learning outcomes. So that from these problems, research on improving social studies
learning outcomes on cultural material uses the Problem based Learning (PBL) learning
model assisted by monopoly learning media. This research method uses a Classroom Action
Research design. The subjects of this study were IVC class at SDN Sukun 1 Malang City total
of 27 students. The model used is Kemmis and Mc Taggart models which are carried out in 3
cycles. The data analysis technique used is quantitative and qualitative data. From the
results of this study it can be seen that student learning outcomes increased from 37% in the
pre-cycle and cycle I to 51.8% then in cycle II it increased to 74.1% then in cycle III it
increased to 88.9%. Thus it can be concluded that the application of monopoly learning
media to cultural material can improve student learning outcomes in class IVC SDN Sukun 1
Malang City.
