Peningkatan Kemampuan Menyelesaikan Soal Cerita Penjumlahan dan Pengurangan Kelas 1 Melalui Petualangan Si Katak
Abstract
Problems found in grade 1 of SDN Kebonsari 1 Malang City indicate that students experience difficulties in solving addition and subtraction story problems due to a lack of understanding of the problem content, weak mastery of concepts, and conventional learning methods that are still guided by student companion modules only. This study aims to improve the ability to solve story problems through the Adventure of the Frog media developed with the Culturally Responsive Teaching (CRT) and Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) approaches. This study is a classroom action research conducted in two cycles with the Kemmis and McTaggart model. The research subjects were 27 Grade 1 students. Data collection techniques were carried out through observation, interviews, tests, and documentation, then analyzed descriptively qualitatively and quantitatively. The results of the study showed a significant increase in student learning outcomes. In the pre cycle, student learning completeness was only 44% (addition) and 33% (subtraction). After the first cycle, the percentages increased to 74.07% and 62.96%, then increased to 92.25% and 85.18% in the second cycle. The conclusion of this study proves that the use of this media can improve learning outcomes, student engagement, and foster critical thinking skills in solving addition and subtraction story problems related to everyday life.
