Penerapan Smart Box dengan Model STAD untuk Meningkatkan Hasil Belajar Kognitif Pada Siswa Kelas 3A SDN Kotalama 5 Malang pada Materi Memahami Aturan yang Berlaku

Abstract: The minimal use of interactive learning media in the Understanding Applicable Rules material causes students to be less interested and their cognitive learning outcomes are low. Learning with the lecture method does not facilitate active student involvement, so that the learning process becomes monotonous. This study aims to apply Smart Box media using the Student Teams Achievement Divisions (STAD) cooperative learning model to improve students' cognitive learning outcomes. The subjects of this study were 25 students of class 3A SDN Kotalama 5 Malang. The study was conducted in two cycles consisting of planning, action, observation, and reflection stages. Data were collected through cognitive learning outcome tests, media effectiveness, and observation of student activities. The results showed that the application of Smart Box media with the STAD model can improve students' cognitive learning outcomes. In cycle I, the percentage of learning completion reached 64%, and increased to 88% in cycle II. In addition, student involvement in the learning process also increased, marked by students' enthusiasm and active participation in group activities. This shows that the use of innovative media and cooperative learning models can overcome the problem of low cognitive learning outcomes and increase student involvement. The use of interactive media and cooperative models such as Smart Box and STAD should be implemented sustainably, and their influence on non-cognitive aspects such as student motivation and attitudes needs to be further studied.
