Abstract

Abstract: This research is motivated by the lack of student engagement in learning activities. This happens because teachers still predominantly use lecture methods and make less use of learning media. The purpose of this research is to enhance student engagement in classroom learning. This research uses the Discovery Learning model assisted by Wordwall media with a classroom action research method conducted over two cycles. Each cycle is conducted in two meetings and consists of four stages: planning, action, observation, and reflection. The subject of the research is the fifth-grade class V B of SDN Buring in Malang City, consisting of 29 students. The data collection techniques used are observation, documentation, and testing. The results of the pre-cycle study indicate that the average student activity score is 44,94% while in cycle I it achieved a percentage of 60,81% and increased by 82,65% in cycle II. Thus, it can be concluded that the use of the Discovery Learning model with the aid of Wordwall media can enhance student engagement in the IPAS subject.
