Penerapan Teams Games Tournament Untuk Meningkatkan Hasil Belajar Pada Materi Sistem Pendengaran Manusia Kelas V SD
Abstract
Abstract: Elementary education plays a crucial role in shaping the foundational knowledge and skills of students. However, educators often face challenges in selecting teaching methods that can enhance student motivation and learning outcomes. One increasingly popular method is Team Game Tournament (TGT), which combines game elements with group learning to create a more dynamic learning process. According to Slavin (1995), TGT is a cooperative learning method that involves students in group-based competition, facilitating material understanding through social interaction and group support. This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of TGT in improving student learning outcomes on the topic of the human auditory system in Grade V at SDN Bandulan 5 Malang. The research employs Classroom Action Research (CAR) with the Kemmis and McTaggart model, which includes planning, action, observation, and reflection. The study was conducted over two cycles, involving 24 students, with data collection techniques including observation, testing, and documentation. The results indicate that the application of the TGT method significantly improved student learning outcomes. In the first cycle, the average student learning outcome was 73 with a completion rate of 56.25%. After modifying the method in the second cycle, the average learning outcome increased to 86 with a completion rate of 90.62%. This study demonstrates that TGT can enhance student motivation and engagement, as well as the effectiveness of learning in the topic of the human auditory system. The findings suggest that TGT is an effective choice for improving learning outcomes at the elementary level.
