Abstract

Abstract: The purpose of this research is to describe the application of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) learning model to improve students' critical thinking skills and learning outcomes. This type of research is classroom action research (PTK) starting from the pre-cycle, cycle I, and cycle II. The subjects of this study were 26 fifth grade students at SDN Negeri Tanjungrejo 4 Malang. Data collection techniques in this study were observation and tests. The results of the study showed that the use of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) learning model can improve students' critical thinking skills and learning outcomes. This is evidenced by the increase in students' critical thinking skills by 90% and the average learning outcomes of students at the end (cycle II) obtained a score of 88.64% with a high category.
