Abstract

Abstract: This research aims to determine the use of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model in increasing learning activity so that learning is not teacher-centered. This type of research is Classroom Action Research carried out at SDN Bakalan Krajan 1 Malang in the even semester 2023/2024. The subjects of this research were 27 people in class 5A. The stages in this research are: 1) Plan, 2) Action, 3) Observe, 4) Reflect. Data collection techniques use observation and direct learning in class. Data were analyzed descriptively and presented in table form. The application of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) learning model to increase students' active learning in science and science subjects, material on geographic location and conditions along with natural resources, research results show that the percentage in the first cycle of the first meeting was 74%. The first cycle of the second meeting, the percentage was 87%. The second cycle of the first meeting, the percentage was 89%. In the second cycle of the second meeting, the percentage of student activity was 90%. So as to obtain an increase in student activity by 9% by using the Problem Based Learning learning model.Key Words: Activeness, Model, Problem Based Learning.
