Abstract

The Classroom Action Research (CAR) that has been carried out aims to describe the increase
in numeracy literacy of fourth-grade students through context-based learning on statistical material
for fourth-grade students at SDN Sumberbendo 1. The type of this research is Class Action Research,
which consists of two cycles which in each cycle consists of two meetings with 20 respondents. The
method used in this research is descriptive quantitative. Research data obtained from the results of
observations and tests. The results of the research show that the applied context-based learning is quite
effective in increasing the literacy skills of grade 4 students in statistics material in each cycle. The
students' numeracy literacy ability was seen from the results of the tests carried out, in the pre-cycle the
students' classical learning mastery was 10%, in Cycle I meeting 1 the students' classical learning
mastery was 40%, in the first cycle meeting 2 the classical learning mastery was 50%. In the second
cycle of meeting 1 the students' classical learning mastery was 75%, in the second cycle of learning 2
the students' classical learning mastery rose to 80%.
