Meningkatkan Keaktifan Peserta Didik Kelas IV melalui Penerapan Model Discovery Learning di SDN Bakalan Krajan 2
Abstract
This low level of student engagement is strongly suspected to be related to the conventional learning approach. The purpose of this study was to improve fourth-grade student engagement through the application of the discovery learning model at SDN Bakalan Krajan 2, from information gathering to conceptual conclusions, thereby increasing their engagement and optimizing learning outcomes. This study employed the Classroom Action Research (CAR) method, conducted in two cycles. Data was obtained through observation, interviews, and documentation. A total of 27 fourth-grade students were involved as research subjects at SDN Bakalan Krajan 2, Malang City. Observation methods supplemented by an assessment rubric were used in the data collection process. The data analysis techniques employed in this classroom action research employed qualitative and quantitative data analysis. The results of this study indicate that fourth-grade student engagement increased by 15%, from an average of 60% in cycle 1 to 75% in cycle 2. This concludes that the discovery learning model has a positive impact.
