Abstract

Abstract: Abstract is a complete summary and explains the overall content of articles that consist of background, research objectives, methods used and the results of the research and conclusion of the research  (results of research  written in sentences form not written by numbers).  Abstract written in  English using Calibri 10 pt, single spaced, and no more than 150 words Learning that favors students must consider the characteristics of the students themselves. Therefore, it is necessary to pay attention to the selection of appropriate learning methods so that learning can run effectively and efficiently. In learning Indonesian language in class VII which has active characteristics, the TGT method can be one of the best alternatives to be applied. The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of the application of TGT method to increase the learning motivation of students in class VII A. The research method used was class action research (PTK) involving students in class VII A at SMPN 12 Malang. The results showed that the application of the TGT method was effective to be applied in learning Indonesian, the learning motivation of students increased which was known through the percentage of learning completeness and student learning activeness. learning completeness in cycle 1 experienced an increase of 28.5% and learning activeness of 45%, while the cycle experienced an increase in learning completeness of 50.45% and learning activeness of 58%.
