Abstract

Abstract: Poetry writing abilities are greatly enhanced by creative learning materials like pictures and movies. The phenomena of pupils' diminishing interest in and proficiency with poetry writing serves as the driving force behind this study. Lack of interest in the material that is utilized, together with a lack of desire and engagement, are the root causes of this issue. The goal of this research is to apply engaging and interactive media to counteract this problem. Students from SMAN 2 Malang's class X-H participated in classroom action research as the research methodology. The study's findings demonstrated that students' abilities to write poetry improved and grew following the use of picture and video media, rising from a class average of 76.63 to 91.21. The percentage of pupils achieving MOH went from 21 to 33. As a result, using visual and video content might be a substitute for honing poetry writing techniques.The research aims to undertake follow-up studies to investigate the impact of other media on poetic abilities or the use of picture and video media in conjunction with other materials.
