Abstract

Abstract : This study aims to enhance the learning engagement of 7th-grade students at SMP Negeri 17 Malang in comprehending and responding to fiction and non-fiction book response texts using Moodle as a learning platform. Moodle is an online learning platform that provides various features to support the learning process, such as material management, discussion forums, and online assignments. The research method employed is Classroom Action Research (CAR) with 32 students as research subjects. Data were collected through observations, interviews with teachers and students, and documentation. The results indicate that the use of Moodle effectively increased the students' learning engagement from Cycle I to Cycle II, with the learning engagement percentage reaching 81.25% in Cycle II. Both teachers and students responded positively to the use of Moodle, perceiving it as creating a comfortable learning environment and motivating students to actively participate in learning.
