Abstract

Abstract:  This type of research is a Classroom Action Research which aims to determine the improvement of the ability to compose biography text using the Project Based Learning model. The population in this study were all students of class X-I of State Senior High School 2 Malang Regency, with a sample of class X-I. The data collected consisted of student learning outcomes through tests in each cycle and data on student activities in learning based on observations. Data on student learning outcomes were analyzed equally, while data on learning activities were analyzed using descriptive analysis. The results showed that the students' ability to compose biography text increased. In cycle I, there were 7 students who reached the complete category with a percentage of 18.42%, while in cycle II there were 25 students in the complete category with a percentage of 71.42%. Based on the data, it can be concluded that the use of Project Based Learning model can improve the ability to compose biography text of students in class X-I of State Senior High School 2 Malang Regency.
