Abstract

Abstract : The problem in this study is the low cognitive learning outcomes of grade II students in mathematics. This is due to the monotonous learning methods used and the lack of understanding of students in solving mathematical problems. This research was conducted to improve the cognitive learning outcomes of elementary students by applying a talking stick-type cooperative learning model. The type of research used is Classroom Action Research (PTK). The research procedure is in the form of a cycle consisting of four stages including planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. This research was carried out in 2 cycles. The data collection technique is carried out by observation and test. The analysis techniques used are qualitative and quantitative analysis. The results of the study showed that the cognitive learning outcomes of Mathematics in second grade of SDN Karangbesuki 3 Malang City increased in the percentage of completeness of learning outcomes from the first cycle of the semester. The results of the study showed that the cognitive learning outcomes of Mathematics in second grade of SDN Karangbesuki 3 Malang City increased in the percentage of completeness of learning outcomes from cycle I by 70% to 90% in cycle II.
