Abstract

Abstract: This research aims to improve the writing skills of imperative sentences in procedure texts of students in class IX SMPN 23 Malang. The research method used was Classroom Action Research (PTK) which was carried out in pre-cycle, cycle I and cycle II. Each cycle has four stages, namely planning, implementation, observation and reflection. In the pre-cycle the average learner skills ranged from 63.3 with 36.6% completeness, while the results in cycle I showed an increase to 73.3 with 60% completeness, but had not yet reached the KKM set by the school. After the application of the PJBL method in cycle II, the average value of students increased significantly, namely 84.3 with a percentage of 100% completeness. This proves that the application of the PJBL method is more effective in improving imperative sentence writing skills and encouraging understanding and active involvement of students in the learning process.
