Abstract

Abstract: This research is motivated by the low skill and innovative abilities of students in the learning process in class VIII. The research aims to determine the effect of applying Problem Based Learning (PBL) assisted by Diaorama Object Learning Media to increase students' creative and innovative abilities. The method used in this research is Class Action which consists of 2 cycles. Each cycle consists of planning, implementation, observation and reflection. The instruments used are group discussion assessments based on poetry compositions, performance through group worksheets and student observations in learning activities. The assessment results show that the application of the PBL model assisted by Diaorama Objects significantly increases creativity and innovative skills from cycle 1 to cycle 2. Quantitative data shows an increase in the average score for creativity skills of 90% while qualitative data reveals an increase in active participation during the learning process. It is recommended that this model be applied more widely in Indonesian language learning by adapting other materials, and that further research be carried out to measure the long-term impact of using Diaorama Object Media in education.
