Abstract

Abstract: Solving story problems requires using the right model. Based on observations of class III students at SDN Mergosono 5, Malang City, many students were not interested in mathematics story problems because the teacher presented the questions less variedly. According to researchers, the learning method to overcome this class problem is to solve story problems using the polya model with the help of the Canva application. This research aims to improve the ability to solve class III mathematics story problems using the polya model assisted by the Canva application. Based on the results of research conducted in cycle I and cycle II, it is known that the polya model is said to be successful in increasing the ability to solve math story problems. In cycle I, 12 students (48%) showed very good abilities. In cycle II, there was an increase with 16 students (64%) showing very good abilities. From these data, it was concluded that efforts to improve the ability to complete class III math story essays using the polya model assisted by the Canva application at SDN Mergosono 5, Malang City were effectively used in the learning process.
