Abstract

This study aims to find out how the implementation of the school literacy movement activities at SDN Kebonsari 4 Malang City, knowing how to support the school literacy movement activities at SDN Kebonsari 4 Malang City, knowing about what are the supporting factors and inhibiting factors for the school literacy movement activities at SDN Kebonsari 4 Malang City, knowing how to solve problems in school literacy movement activities at SDN Kebonsari 4 Malang City, knowing the language skills of 5th grade students at SDN Kebonsari 4 Malang City, and knowing how to build a culture of School Literacy Movement in students at SDN Kebonsari 4 Malang City. The research uses ethnographic qualitative research where the researcher enters into the daily lives of students both at school and at home to provide an accurate picture of the research. The process of building culture through the school literacy movement is carried out by 1). The school applies the habit of 15 minutes before learning with reading activities. 2). The school environment at SDN Kebonsari 4 Malang City is filled with various motivational writings for students so that the enthusiasm for learning and reading is shown by posters and pictures. 3). The reading corner in each class is used by students to become a comfortable place to read and find information, whether related to lessons or non lessons. 4). The teacher gives a target of at least one sheet a day to read a book.
