Abstract

Indonesian language learning in class V of SDN Kedungpedaringan 02 has not maximized language skills because of the limited use of teaching materials. There is a need for supporting teaching materials to grow students' language skills that are associated with reading interest. The researcher developed Ken Arok's non-fiction book based on children's literature using research instruments in the form of observation, documentation, and questionnaires with qualitative and quantitative data analysis techniques. The purpose of this study was to determine the feasibility, practicality, and effectiveness. Non-fiction story books based on children's literature use 4D model development research. The results of the study were based on the feasibility aspect by 92.8% of teaching materials experts, 80.3% of content experts, and 90% of linguists with "feasible" criteria. The practical aspect of the teacher response questionnaire is 93.42% and the student response questionnaire is 91.45% with the criteria of "very good". Aspects of effectiveness with the N-Gain test obtained a value of 0.66 with the criteria of "medium". Based on these results, non-fiction story books based on children's literature can be used in learning because they have met the criteria of being feasible, practical and effective.
