Abstract

The purpose of this study is to develop a social studies learning module based on Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) that is feasible, practical and effective in the material of natural resources and economic activities in grade IV elementary school as an effort to develop social skills. The research design of this study uses the ADDIE model which includes five stages of development, namely the analysis stage (Analysis), the planning stage (Design), the development stage (Development), the implementation stage (Implementation), and the evaluation stage (Evaluation). Then, the research instruments include observations that are made to determine the effectiveness of social skills, questionnaires to determine product feasibility, product practicality. The subjects of the trial were 10 fourth grade students of SDN Kedungsalam 01 Malang Regency. The data analysis of this study uses quantitative and qualitative methods. Based on the development stage through validation, it can be known that the module developed is feasible, criteria are feasible with achievement of design validation 90%, and achievement of material validation is 76%, and achievement of language validation is 75%. Module practicality level by teacher 91% and 83% student response as declared practical modules. Therefore, the results of the 3.61 social skills effectiveness category are very good. In conclusion, the module based on Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) can be categorized as feasible for use in the learning process.
